Arrêts Gourmands The know-how of our gourmet stops - Érablière Marcel Vien: when passion rhymes with audacity
Marcel and Solange Vien bought their sugar bush in Sainte-Claire in 1976. But a few years later, when the couple wanted to see their production expand, they came up against a major problem: no sugar bush was for sale in the area. They then decided to play daring by acquiring land located in Saint-Malachie, more than 10 kilometers away, and by transporting the maple water themselves between their facilities. This risky bet has paid off since the Érablière Marcel Vien is now harvesting sap from more than 40,000 trees!
